Salomon X-Chase Mid Gore-Tex Trail Running Shoe Gore-Tex Upper The upper of the X-Chase is made with a Gore-Tex membrane which makes the upper of the shoe fully waterproof at the same time as letting excess sweat and moisture escape and evaporate on the outer shoe layers, keeping the foot cool and dry. A quick-lacing system has been used on the shoe for fast and effective lacing of the shoe and a lace pocket has been included to store the end of the lacing system to keep it from snagging on debris and breaking. The tongue is padded with a soft material to help prevent chafe and discomfort to the top of the foot. A protective cap at the heel of the shoe helps to protect the shoe against rough terrain and offers support to the heel of the foot for a stable fit. A protect cap has also been added to the toe area of the shoe to protect the front of the foot. EVA Midsole An injected EVA has been used in the construction of this midsole which gives superb under the foot comfort. An Ortholite® insole has been included to the shoes midsole which offers a plush feeling cushioning as well as added support and stability. Contagrip Outsole A high abrasion contagrip rubber is used in key areas of the outsole to keep it from wearing away, keeping the shoe durable and long lasting for your long days running.
