The Salomon Speedcross 3 CS Women's Trail Running Shoe combines a lightweight, ClimashieldTM upper with an aggressive outsole tread to yield ample comfort and grip in wet trail conditions. The forefoot has been reduced by up to 50 percent, meaning that the wearer's foot is lower to the ground and therefore more likely to gain a better purchase, thereby reducing the chances of twisting the ankle. The heel is also wider across the sole area, creating a greater contact surface which is altogether more stable. In addition, the Quicklace slider and 'garage' pocket have been reduced in size, meaning that the weight is reduced and the stowage is now more compact. Other modifications to this iteration include a bonded Sensifit construction, increased outsole durability and lower heel that all work in concert to accommodate a more robust, stable ride. Water shield protection across the tongue and toe sections provide excellent water resistance without sacrificing breathability.
