The latest edition of Saucony's flagship shoe arrives with a fit and ride even more attuned to the needs of runners seeking stability in an everyday training shoe. A new flared forefoot design creates greater stability. The shape allows the runner to direct their foot power into their spring, creating a higher efficiency in their stride. The sole unit features triangular IBR+ pads integrated with extra flex grooves in the forefoot for better flexibility and responsiveness. Three independently responsive pods in the SRC crashpad provide a smooth, efficient transition onto the midfoot, while an updated medial support system offers extra stability and cushioning, and helps to provide a smooth transition from heel to forefoot. For years, the Guide has been made with a 12mm heel-to-toe offset, and runners love them. So why change them to 8mm? Because the lower drop activates and engages a runner's ability to cushion, stabilise and spring forward. The New updates include: A flared forefoot design provides essential support, giving runners a more efficient spring and stride. Full-length PowerGridTM replaces the existing ProGrid. PowerGrid is 15% lighter and 30% more durable, providing greater responsiveness and cushioning. Added flex grooves ensure even more flexibility. A fully decoupled SRC Crashpad provides extra shock absorption and comfort. The medial support system has been redesigned to create a smooth transition from the heel to the midfoot.
